August 6, 2026
For most of the last decade, the honest answer to "where should we eat in Frisco tonight" involved either a chain on Preston Road or a thirty-minute drive south. That reflex is about to become outdated. The restaurants opening between now and the end of 2026 are not suburban satellites of Dallas concepts. Several of them are the flagship.
If you already live here, that distinction matters more than any single opening. It changes which nights you drive down the tollway and which you stay north of Warren Parkway. Below is a working map of what has opened in the last twelve months, what lands this fall, and what to keep on your radar for 2027, with enough address-level detail that you can plan an actual Saturday around it.
The clearest signal that Frisco's dining scene has crossed a threshold is buried in a real estate detail most residents will never see. When Headington Companies, the Dallas hospitality group behind The Joule hotel and Forty Five Ten, brings Commissary to HALL Park at 3101 Gaylord Parkway this fall, the Frisco location will also serve as Commissary's flagship and house all bakery and wholesale production for the brand. Every other Commissary output, in other words, will be baked in Frisco and shipped south. That is a very different investment than a second outpost.
Its sibling concept lands at the same address. Tango Room takes the ground floor of The Monarch, HALL Park's luxury apartment tower, next to the 5.7-acre Kaleidoscope Park, with a menu that pairs New York strip and foie gras with lobster corndogs and uni tagliatelle. Headington's president framed the move in a release as the group's first push north after searching for high-impact locations, which reads like standard corporate language until you notice they picked Frisco over another Uptown block or a Fort Worth address.
Frenchie, the other name to know, arrives at Firefly Park with a résumé most suburban tenants do not carry. The restaurant, co-owned by Stephan Courseau and his partner Daniele Garcia, has been nominated for Best New Restaurant in the 2026 CultureMap Dallas Tastemaker Awards. That opening is targeting fall 2027, not this year, but the lease itself is the point. Operators of that tier do not sign in markets they expect to underperform.
Before the fall wave, here is what has already landed in the last twelve months and is worth a first visit if you have not made one yet:
That is a wider range of price points and cuisines than Frisco had a year ago, and it is worth noticing that three of the five above come from operators with existing Dallas reputations to protect.
The fall calendar is dense. Beyond Commissary and Tango Room at HALL Park, two arrivals deserve a spot on the shortlist.
Muchacho Tex-Mex is the second Headington-adjacent name in the mix, from chef Omar Flores. Fresh off the opening of Maroma in the Design District, Flores is preparing a third location of Muchacho, his colorful Tex-Mex concept known for mesquite-fired meats and cocktails, at 600 Gaylord Parkway. Construction has moved slower than anticipated after Gloria's Latin Cuisine occupied the space longer than expected, pushing the opening from spring into late summer or early fall. Watch the corner before you commit to a reservation elsewhere.
The Imperial Room is the smallest opening on this list and possibly the most interesting for date nights. The new concept cocktail lounge, owned and operated by PILF Restaurant group, is opening in The Star district in early September, taking over the space formerly occupied by Cow Tipping Creamery, with seating for 25 to 30 guests once open. Twenty-five seats is a real number in a city where most new rooms are built for two hundred, and it will get harder to book once word travels.
One more, quiet and often overlooked: Flix Brewhouse Frisco earned a gold medal at the 2026 U.S. Open Beer Championship for its Cumbersome Blonde in the Field Beer category, helping the cinema brewery chain achieve a record 17 medals across all locations, with each Flix brewery judged independently. That is a Frisco team winning on its own beer, not a chain trophy. Worth remembering the next time you are picking a Tuesday-night movie.
If the fall wave rewards planning ahead by weeks, the 2027 pipeline rewards planning ahead by seasons. Wilks Development revealed in late April that Frenchie, the acclaimed French-American all-day cafe from Travis Street Hospitality, and Second Rodeo Brewing, the Fort Worth Stockyards brewpub from restaurateur Jason Boso, have both signed leases at the Shops at Firefly Park, joining Tyler's at the 217-acre mixed-use development located at the corner of US 380 and the Dallas North Tollway. Leasing is not finished. Phase-one leasing at Firefly stood at 41% with another 29% under letter of intent as of that April announcement, so more food and beverage names will land before either restaurant opens the doors.
Fields West is the other 2027 hinge. In November 2025, Fields West added several new leases and brought the mixed-use development to 70% pre-leased, with tenants including Crate & Barrel, Culinary Dropout, Design Within Reach, Face Foundrie, Gorjana, Landry Kate, North Italia, Maman, TravisMathew, and U Med Spa, with construction begun and openings sequenced starting in Q3 2027 into 2028. The Katz brothers are on the list too. Greg and Nik Katz are bringing two of their always-buzzing Dallas restaurant concepts, Green Point Seafood & Oyster Bar and Claremont Bar & Grill, to Fields West, joined by FB Society's Mexican Sugar and Sixty Vines, both familiar to the northern suburbs, with Mexican Sugar built around polished Mexican cuisine and agave-forward cocktails and Sixty Vines known for its wine-on-tap program and California-inspired menu.
Two more on the medium-term watch list. Moxies, a Canadian-based fine dining brand with two existing locations in Southlake and Plano, is planning a new location in Frisco per a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing, and construction of the nearly 13,000-square-foot restaurant will cost approximately $800,000 and is estimated for completion in spring 2027. Andalous Fresh Mediterranean is slated to open in 2026 with a hybrid buffet-plus-plated format, where cold items including fresh dips, salads, and toppings will be available buffet-style while proteins will be plated fresh from the kitchen.
If you host out-of-town family a few times a year, the practical takeaway is this. Musume already lets you skip the reservation gymnastics of Uptown for a comparable Japanese dinner. By December, Tango Room lets you do the same for a steakhouse night. By late 2027, Frenchie does it for weekend brunch. The itinerary that used to require a hotel booking downtown will fit inside a fifteen-minute radius of most Frisco addresses.
If you are thinking about what any of this means for the value of a home two streets from HALL Park, or a lot near the US 380 and tollway corner where Firefly Park is rising, that is a longer conversation and one worth having before the openings, not after. Walkability to a flagship steakhouse and a Best New Restaurant nominee is not a small line item in a listing description.
